Some seeds require a fire to sprout.

Unfortunately, as with most of Paradise the 2018 Camp Fire turned Norton Buffalo Hall to ashes. We sure had great times there!

We’ll rebuild Norton Buffalo Hall with a little help from you, our community, our friends, foundation and government grants, and more.

Our plan to do that is in coordination with Paradise Arts, Theatre and Culture Hub (PATCH). The idea germinated in a discussion between Gold Nugget Museum and Norton Buffalo Hall Foundation in the first months after the fire, as documented by the initial Long Term Community Recovery Plan adopted by the Town of Paradise in June 2019.

Comprised of five independent nonprofit organizations — including Norton Buffalo Hall Foundation, Gold Nugget Museum, Theatre on the Ridge, Paradise Art Center, (the federally recognized) Mechoopda Indian Tribe, and (a local special district, the) Paradise Recreation & Parks District — PATCH represents a collaboration to locate on a common campus where the community can experience a wide array of arts, theatre and culture offerings.

Imagine a destination for musical concerts, theatrical productions, art showings, museum exhibitions, native cultural displays and activities and maybe something for the adrenaline junkies, too — that’s PATCH.

PATCH is now establishing its corporate and 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and, thanks to generous grants from local foundations, will soon engage with the Paradise Ridge community in a series of creative placemaking adventures to elicit input for design and operations of the ultimate PATCH campus in service to the public.

For now, Norton Buffalo Hall Foundation serves as fiscal agent for PATCH and may receive contributions so designated.
